Notes from the meeting room: Mark Holland

ATS Euromaster's Mark Holland takes us inside the company's latest meeting

Meeting chaired by: Mark Holland, operations director, ATS Euromaster

Why was the meeting called and who was in attendance?

The meeting consisted of the senior leadership team to discuss progress of transitioning our centres to support EV SMR.

What was top of the agenda?

We are reviewing the latest data on the move to electric vehicles, how it is impacting on car and van servicing, maintenance, and repairs and how well ATS services centres are adapting to the new challenges.

What was decided as a result of the meeting?

Recognising that EVs will have a big impact on SMR – as electric vehicles have fewer moving parts, longer service schedules and reduced wear and tear, we discussed plans for our centres to focus on tyres and things like brake fluid, windscreen wipers and bulbs as well as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibration.

Additionally, we discussed EV training progress and our recruitment drive to ensure we have the right level of qualified technicians to meet immediate needs, but also to meet our long-term business growth plans.

Any other business?

MOT test delays continue to be an issue for our customers, and we discussed the need to reach out them on the importance early booking of MOTs to prevent vehicle off-road issues.

When is the next meeting, and what is it about?

The next meeting will be in a month’s time to discuss progress on the above.
